FORMER England international rugby union player Steve Smith will be sharing stories at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa.

Steve will be speaking at a Sportsman’s Dinner on Friday, October 4 to help raise funds for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, which supports ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from the north west.

Guests are invited to join Steve, who will be sharing stories from his time as captain of the England Rugby Union and British Lions teams.

The evening will also include a three-course meal, half a bottle of wine and comedy from Billy Flywheel.

An auction and raffle will be held for guests to win prizes, with all proceeds going to the Trust.

Pippa Watton from CAFT said: “This promises to be a fantastic event – a must not just for sports fans but also those who like a fun night out with great food.

“We’re so grateful to The Mere for selecting us as their charity for this event, and the money raised will make a huge difference to the children who visit us at the Adventure Farm.”

General manager at The Mere, Gary Johnson, said: “We are looking forward to hosting the Sportsman’s Dinner.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to raise money for our friends at CAFT and for our guests to enjoy an evening of sport and great entertainment.”
