KNUTSFORD residents are invited to join Town Mayor Cllr Andrew Malloy for a short service of remembrance at the Centennial War Memorial on Toft Road to recognise the 80th anniversary of the start of the Second World War.
The service takes place at 6pm on Tuesday, September 3, and the Mayor will be joined by his chaplain, Reverend Paul Deakin for prayers and readings to commemorate this significant anniversary.
Cllr Malloy said: “Please join me at the centennial memorial to commemorate 80 years since the start of the Second World War. This service will be a solemn reminder of the conflict that was never meant to happen, ahead of more celebratory events in May 2020 to recognise the 75th anniversary of VE Day.”
