A woman was reportedly strangled and had her "head smashed against a wall" during a violent mugging in Blackheath earlier this week.
Police were called at around 2.15pm on August 15 to reports of a robbery on Heath Lane.
"Officers attended and found a woman, aged in her 20s, with a minor head injury," A Met spokeswoman said.
"It was reported that she was assaulted by a male suspect who then took her bag and left the scene."
Police added that enquiries are ongoing and that no arrests have been made.
