TEENAGERS from across the town have come together to organise an afternoon tea party for patients at St Rocco’s Hospice.

The group are all part of the National Citizens Service – a four-week programme open to young people aged between 15 and 17.

As part of the scheme, the teenagers had to organise and fund a community event and they chose to hold a tea party to benefit the charity.

For the event, the group organised a game of bingo and a quiz for the patients as well as liaising with Room Forty, who generously donated crockery.

The teenagers also contacted supermarkets including Sainsbury’s Chapelford, Marks and Spencer Gemini and McColl’s, who provided food items for the event.

Many shops also gave donations and vouchers to be used as bingo prizes which contributed to what was a fun afternoon for the patients.

St Rocco’s said: “We were so happy to welcome students from all over Warrington to St Rocco's to hold an afternoon tea with some of our Vitality Centre patients.

“All of the guests had a lovely time and the sweet treats went down very well.

“It's always so great to have young students visit and help us to provide care and support to the Warrington community.

“We'd also like to say a special thank you to Room Forty for the very generous donation of crockery for the afternoon, as it really added to the whole experience for our patients.”
