THE Friends of Westbrook Community Orchard are looking for volunteers to help tidy-up Ladywood Pond.

The area surrounding the pond has become very overgrown of late and the group are calling on local residents to join forces and do their bit.

This will involve clearing the area, cutting back some of the overgrown vegetation and carrying out painting and repair work on the wooden bridge.

The council will be supplying bags and some equipment, but volunteers are urged to bring litter pickers if they have them as well as secateurs and gloves.

For those who wish to help, please visit the pond on Saturday, August 17 at 10am.
