POLICE investigating an assault in March outside a supermarket in Knutsford have re-issued their witness appeal.

At 1am on Sunday, March 10 a 30-year-old man was walking with a group of people along Princess Street when there was a verbal altercation between him and another group of men.

One of the men attacked the victim, causing him to fall backwards. He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital with serious head injuries, and was discharged a few days later.

PC Jackie Cantrell said: “This was a serious assault, and although we have made a number of inquiries we are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"If you have any information which could help find the person who caused this attack please get in touch.

“Have a look at your dashcam footage from around that time. Do you recall seeing a group of people on or near to Princess Street? Do come forward with any information, no matter how small, as it could help our investigation.”
