A CAT was rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in a chimney in Bromborough.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 9.40am today (Wednesday, July 17) following reports after a cat became trapped behind a chimney breast at a home in Bruce Crescent.
Firefighters were told that the cat, which had been reported missing, could have been in the flu or chimney breast of the home's log burner.
Crews used a thermal imaging camera to find the cat and removed the log burner to rescue it.
The cat was unharmed in the incident.
Firefighters left the scene at around 11.15am.
