LUCKY students from Burton Morewood CE Primary School, Burton-in-Kendal, were chosen to be the 'Anthem Kids' for the semi-final of the Cricket World Cup.
Year Six pupils accompanied the Indian and New Zealand teams out on to the pitch for their respective national anthems.
The match took place at the Old Trafford, in Manchester, on Tuesday, July 9 before it was called off at around 6pm due to the rain and it resumed play on Wednesday morning.
Deputy Headteacher Steve Thexton said: "It was the most wonderful day, a day to excite, to inspire and one which our children will never forget."
Pre-tournament favourites India lost to New Zealand by 17 runs and the black caps went on to lose a thrilling match against England.
