CRICKET fans up and down the country were bouncing for joy when England finally got their hands on the World Cup yesterday.
An enthralling tournament could not have had its final showdown scripted better.
And after two nations on opposite sides of the world held their breath for the contest to be decided on the final bowl in the tie-breaker super over, it was in England where scenes erupted like in the video above at Lindow Cricket Club in Wilmslow.
Supporters jumped around and cheered like crazy, while junior players ran out of the clubhouse to do a pitch invasion of their Upcast Lane ground.
After both England and New Zealand scored 241 from their 50 overs, the game at Lord's went down to a super over.
That also finished tied with both sides scoring 15.
But the home side won by virtue of having scored more boundaries in their innings.
