CUSTOMERS of Lidl supermarket are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a new store at Wilmslow.

Lidl GB is to open the store on the Summerfield Village Centre at Dean Row Road on Thursday, July 18 at 8am.

The store was built on the site of the supermarket’s previous store, which was demolished along with a neighbouring fitness club to make way for the new store.

Customers will be offered the chance to sample some of Lidl’s products throughout the day, along with exclusive deals and offers on selected products for the first week of opening.

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion and regeneration plans in the UK, which will see it open up to 50 new stores a year.

The store has a 1,567-square metre sales area, and includes an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing, a customer toilet, baby changing and ample parking for cars and bicycles.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Dominic Bryan, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in improving our Lidl store in Wilmslow.

“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi award-winning products to the community once again.”
