CHEEKY bingo calling and visits from community champions was the order of the day as Daneside Court celebrated Care Home Open Day.
The event, on Friday, June 28, saw Morrisons community champions Suzanne and Andy – along with home volunteers Denise and Margaret – all come along to support the activities taking place.
Sharon Lelonek, the home’s wellbeing coordinator, said: “Andy pleased our residents with his cheeky bingo calling, while Suzanne, Margaret and Denise helped residents play their cards.
“Families were encouraged to join in too and there was no escape – if you came to visit you had to join in.
“There was plenty of banter which created a wonderful atmosphere and you could clearly see the laughter and smiles from our residents.
“The afternoon entertainment was provided by singer Tony such a wonderful entertainer who manages to draw in our residents encouraging them to sing along, handclapping and encouraging the residents to shake those maracas. It was such an enjoyable day all round. “
The Chesterway home provides residential and general nursing care.
Duty manager Danielle said: “The day went very well and we can’t thank Sharon our wellbeing coordinator enough for organizing the day’s events.”
