HARTFORD'S 'Men in Sheds' raised some money for the Age UK community project by selling some handmade products at the Kelsall Steam Rally.
The fair, in June, saw thousands gather to celebrate all things vintage – with many leaving as proud new owners of a handmade Men in Sheds product.
The Age UK scheme aims to combat social isolation, giving older men the chance to learn and teach new skills.
The ‘sheds’ are places to meet new people and undertake a variety of activities such as woodworking, metalworking, art and computers.
A bird table was raffled off to a deserving winner, Peter Nash of Hartford – who later said he would have bought one regardless.
The traditional designs are available on order from the sheds for £45.
