HOLMES Chapel company Dunelm Geotechnical and Environmental is celebrating winning the Ground Engineering Ground Investigation Project of the Year, for schemes costing more than £2 million.

Dunelm was up against well-established UK-wide and global contractors at the Ground Engineering Awards, and this is the second time it has scored success at the awards, having won Ground Investigation Project of the Year under £500,000 two years ago.

The project which earned the firm its latest accolade is the biggest Dunelm has undertaken, took more than a year to complete and involved a team of up to 25 staff.

The awards were held at the Hyde Park Hilton in London, and are judged by an expert panel from the construction industry and academia.

The judges said Dunelm demonstrated passion for the project and strong commitment to go beyond the contract to deliver value for money for the client.

Dunelm associate director James Huntington, who collected the award, said: “To win against the calibre and size of these companies is testament to the advances we have made over the last few years in all aspects of our company.”

Regional manager Sam Fishburne said: “Hopefully we can continue this success into the future with more awards and continued growth of the company.”
