THE annual Cinema on the Carrs has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 24.
The event was postponed in early June due to torrential rain, but Wilmslow Town Council has now agreed a new summer date.
Arrangements will follow the same format as for the original date with the afternoon film being The Incredibles at 2pm and the evening feature being Mamma Mia Here We Go Again.
This free to attend community event funded and organised by the town council will include daytime family entertainment including our annual duck race, bouncy castles and an all day themed food court.
Martin Watkins, chairman Wilmslow Town Council said: βIt was hugely disappointing that the weather intervened with our plans earlier this month but with the financial and organisational investment the town council make in this community event it is important that the event is both safe and well attended, the weather on the day vindicated our decision to postpone.
"I would like to thank our commercial partners most notably Niche Event Hire for finding an alternative date and allowing us to deliver the event within our original budget.
"We hope that the sun shines on our new date and that the community of Wilmslow will support the event as enthusiastically as in previous years.β
