PUPILS at a school nearby to David Wilson Homes’ development in Wilmslow have been awarded for their efforts in a garden design competition.

A group of year five pupils from Lacey Green Primary Academy created designs for a garden at the Bollin Park development in Adlington Road.

Lacey Green Primary Academy is less than three miles from the development and was judged as ‘Outstanding’ in its most recent Ofsted report.

A number of children at the school know or are part of families living at Bollin Park and had a chance to get to know the nearby development during the process of the competition.

Mrs Dooley, principal at Lacey Green Primary Academy, said, “This was a great opportunity for the pupils to become more involved in the nearby development.

“They really enjoyed thinking about what residents at Bollin Park might want from a garden, rather than what they might want.”

Pupils that submitted the best three designs received vouchers for their efforts, which was presented to them at their school by Holly, the Sales Adviser at Bollin Park.

Mrs Dooley continued, “On behalf of Lacey Green Primary Academy, I want to thank David Wilson Homes for the opportunity to suggest designs and for the winners’ vouchers.”

Lynton Dudgeon, sales director at David Wilson Homes North West, said, “We’re really pleased the pupils of Lacey Green Primary Academy enjoyed the garden design task and we love the ideas they had for the development.

“Building bonds with the local community is really important to us, and also for people in Wilmslow to know that their input in the development is valuable.”
