A FORMER Weaverham resident is asking readers for help in tracing an old photograph.
Andy Hayes now lives in Dartmouth but turned to the Northwich Guardian for help.
He said: "Do any of your readers remember the Oak Tree Inn in Waterloo Road, Northwich?
"I am trying to find a photo of the pub where my elderly mother, Betty Hayes, grew up c1928-1951.
"I have had no luck at all. We now live in Torbay having moved from Weaverham to Dartmouth in 1955.
"Her father, Edward Hitchen, ran the pub for many years and then her brother, Jim Hitchen, before it was demolished, but we have no photos of it.
"There must have been beer in their veins as their grandfather, John Hitchen, ran the Navigation Inn or Navigation Hotel on Lock Street.
"However we do have a photo of that from 1891!"
Andy added: "If anyone has any photos which they can email, it would be appreciated or I would gladly pay for any postage to copy and return any original you might have. Any photos or information of either pub, would be greatly appreciated."
