FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a cooker hood fire in New Platt Lane, Goostrey, at 11.34am yesterday (Wednesday).
The householder was alerted to the fire by smoke alarms sounding, and the fire was out when the fire crew arrived.
The electricity supply to the cooker was isolated and firefighters damped it down to make it safe.
They used a large fan to clear smoke from the property.
