MID Cheshire Community Rail Partnership is running a Midsummer Night Music Train to support Knutsford Music Festival.

On Friday, June 21 the Music Train leaves Chester at 7pm, and will pick up passengers at Mouldsworth, Delamere, Cuddington, Greenbank, Northwich, Lostock Gralam and Plumley.

There will be music on the train on the way out, at the Angel in Knutsford, and on the return train trip home.

The Music Train uses the rear carriage of the normal service, and there is no need to book. You just buy your normal train ticket.

On board and at the venue, the Angel in King Street, will be Nelson Peach, a four-piece folk band from Altrincham whose live performances have earned them a reputation as an energetic and thoroughly entertaining band.

They perform English traditional songs and tunes, plus contemporary folk and pop - and some American versions of traditional songs.

On this special train, we will also have music from Dave Vaughan, who sometimes drives the Music Trains. Dave is a regular at the Northwich Folk Club.

The train returns from Knutsford Railway Station at 10.24pm.

Music Trains organiser Michael Ross said: “We are pleased to be supporting Knutsford Music Festival, which is led by Knutsford Town Council.

“If you are going to the festival, our Music Train will provide a unique way of getting there with music in the rear carriage of the train on the way out, at the Angel and on the way home.

“Our music includes Nelson Peach, who are very entertaining and for the first time Dave Vaughan, our singing train driver.

“Our Midsummer Night Music Train is a normal service train. You pay for your rail ticket and we have a collection for the band on the way home.”
