REVEREND Canon Robert McLaren has been appointed as the new vicar at St Luke’s Church in Holmes Chapel.
Reverend McLaren was ordained in 1988, and has served as vicar of St George with St Martin, Poynton, for the past 14 years.
He is an Honorary Canon of Chester Cathedral and Vocations Adviser for the Cheadle Deanery.
He is married to Jean, and the couple have an adult son and daughter.
Reverend McLaren will take up his new appointment as vicar at St Luke’s in the late autumn.
The Induction Service will be in St Luke’s on Friday, November 22 at 7.30pm.
A spokesman for the diocese: “Reverend Canon Robert (Rob) McLaren, BSc, BA, has been appointed to become the new Incumbent at St Luke’s, Holmes Chapel, subject to all legal formalities being fulfilled.”
