KNUTSFORD’S civic leader has hailed a ‘fabulous weekend’ at The Lambing Shed as thousands of people enjoyed a feast of top quality music and food.

Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park returned for a second year, with a series of top acts and chefs, including Sunday night headliner Will Young and local bands Polar States and Fine Lines.

The weather was mixed for the festival, but it failed to deter the thousands of people who flocked to enjoy a memorable three days, whatever the unpredictable British climate had in store.

Knutsford Mayor Andrew Malloy went along for the Friday evening session, and on Saturday and Sunday with his wife Nicole and their children.

“I was delighted to be invited to attend the opening session of this year’s Knutsford Pub in the Park,” he said.

“Despite the weather, it was a fabulous weekend with a great atmosphere, and I was delighted to meet and speak with a great many people, who were clearly enjoying the event.

The food and drink on offer was fabulous, as you would expect. It was also great to see local talent represented, such as Fine Lines and Polar States, and many of our local traders.”

Among the highlights for the town mayor were Polar States on Friday, Soul II Soul Sound System on Saturday and Craig Charles’ Funk and Soul Club on Sunday.

“Soul II Soul were brilliant, and my sons really enjoyed it,” said Cllr Malloy.

“There was a brilliant atmosphere, Pub in the Park is great for the town and I hope it returns again next year.”

“The whole weekend leads us in very well to the Knutsford Music Festival, which runs from June 20 to 23.”

Pub in the Park organisers said: “It’s been another fantastic festival in Knutsford, and once again the weather did not dampen people’s spirits.

"As with all great festivals, sadly the one thing we can’t plan is the weather, but Knutsford really showed us it knows how to party in all weathers by the vast array of wellies, umbrella hats and ponchos.

"We’ve had a great response to our music line-up, and our chefs and pubs, and most importantly their dishes – which were sell-outs.

"We always get such a warm welcome from the Knutsford community, they‘re an amazing crowd. We look forward to coming back and doing it all again next year.”
