A TEAM of work colleagues have raised more than £1,200 for Maggie's Merseyside after climbing up Mount Snowdon at the dead of night.
The 12-strong group from Birchall Blackburn Law and National Asbestos Helpline started the trek up the highest Welsh mountain at midnight and reached the summit at 4.30am just in time for sunrise.
Led by experienced guides from Raw Adventures, based in Llanberis, the team trekked for more than 10 miles in total.
They have since raised £1,222 for Maggie's Merseyside, based at Clatterbridge Hospital, who provide free support to people with cancer and their families.
Kathy Wright, from Maggie’s Merseyside told the Globe: "Last year alone we supported more than 15,000 people affected by cancer.
"Providing free practical, emotional and social support to those who need us most.
"Our centre offers a safe space away from the clinical environment and our doors remain open thanks to the efforts of our supporters.
"We are extremely grateful to the team from Birchall Blackburn Law and National Asbestos Helpline for raising vital funds and spreading the word about our life changing services.
"The challenge they took on was huge and pretty gruelling but the funds they’ve raised is enough to secure a cancer support group for a whole year.
"They really have made a difference."
