LIVERPOOL FC's most successful goalkeeper during the 80's and 90's will be making a special appearance at The Chester Grosvenor.

Bruce Grobbelaar will speak at The Chester Grosvenor's Captain Club dinner on Thursday, June 13 as part of a series of events hosted by sporting guests.

He will recount tales from his career in the world of football, from his time at Crewe Alexandra and Liverpool FC all the way through to present day in South Africa.

The event will be followed by a question and answer session.

Born in South Africa, Bruce signed for Liverpool in March 1981 and became an instrumental team player, being retained by three of Liverpool's arguably greatest managers - Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish.

General manager of The Chester Grosvenor, Richard Grove said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mr Grobbelaar to The Chester Grosvenor for the third of our Captain’s Club dinners.

"With Liverpool F.C’s recent historic victory securing them a place in the Champion’s League final, we look forward to welcoming guests to what promises to be an insightful and exciting evening from one of the club’s biggest stars.”

The evening will include a three-course meal, accompanied by a half bottle of Sommelier's choice wine.

Tickets cost £70 and a limited number can be personalised and gifted on request.
