ROTARIANS have lent a helping hand at a Northwich charity's warehouse, following a £1,000 donation.

Following an excellent presentation to Northwich Vale Royal Rotary Club by Liz Wareing and Sue Cowlishaw of CARE UK – based at the old Co-op in Chesterway – members visited to present a cheque.

No sooner had they arrived, Liz and Sue had the Rotarians assisting with sorting items of aid and moving furniture, giving them an insight into the work the charity does.

CARE UK – Charity Aid Recycling Enterprise – moved into the vacant building 18 months after Co-op left the town centre.

It collects and distributes practical items and medical aid to those in need, both within Cheshire and to refugees overseas.

The donation will be used by the charity's homes team to purchase much-needed items for those in need, and Northwich Vale Royal Rotary Club will be considering what other ways they can assist the charity and develop the links that have been made.

Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal meets on Wednesday evenings, 7pm for 7.30pm, at Winnington Recreation Club.
