Firefighters found a fire involving a homeless campsite on the prison boundary on Styal Road in Wilmslow at around 7.15pm last night.
Crews tackled the fire on Styal Road at around 7.15pm last night.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet, ladder and a water backpack to extinguish the flames.
The incident is thought to have been a deliberate ignition and the matter was handed over to prison staff and the police.
