A 36-YEAR-OLD wedding filmmaker from Northwich who was inspired to run the London Marathon to help vulnerable children and young people, proudly crossed the finish line to raise thousands of pounds for The Children’s Society.

Paul Doffman completed the gruelling 26.2-mile course in 4 hours and 19 minutes on Sunday, April 28, to support the charity’s work with the most vulnerable children across the country affected by issues such as mental health, poverty and exploitation.

Reflecting on his achievement, Paul said: “I decided to run for the charity as my three kids have all they could want in life and I wanted to do something to help those that don’t. The Children’s Society are wonderful people doing essential work. It’s been a pleasure.”

Paul is passionate about helping vulnerable children and young people which led him to run for the charity. So far, Paul has raised £2,000 towards the cause.

Nina Purdy, The Children’s Society’s supporter engagement manager, said: “Completing the London Marathon is a truly outstanding achievement and Paul’s tremendous efforts will help to make a real difference to the young people we support.

“We want to say a huge thank you to Paul, and all our wonderful London Marathon runners for taking part and supporting our vital work.”
