AHEAD of Thursday's Cheshire East Council elections, meet Kate Parkinson, Conservative candidate for High Legh.

Kate Parkinson trained as a professional ballet dancer, who now teaches dance in Bowdon, alongside managing a Trafford Borough Council community centre.

She works closely with Trafford Council and she has been successful in lobbying for improvements in the community she works in.

She is extremely experienced in working on political campaigns for local MPs in both the Tatton and Altrincham and Sale West area. She now wants to use this experience to help her own community.

She has lived in and around the High Legh are most of her life, and is highly passionate about key issues in the area – to name a few, protecting greenbelt, high speed broadband, road safety and opposing HS2, which promises to destroy the beautiful countryside as well as mass upheaval and stress to residents and farmers.

Kate wants to work with farmers to help their businesses become more sustainable in line with the Government’s 25-year plan.

Kate will bring a fresh enthusiasm and youth to the role that is so desperately needed, and she is already actively meeting residents, taking notes on areas and issues that badly need attention, while promising to represent families, and work hard for a stronger and more efficient community for all.
