A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Hard Lane at around 3pm today (Thursday) following a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a child pedestrian.

Police say the driver of the car stopped at the scene.
An ambulance and advanced paramedic also attended the scene.
A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance said a two-year-old boy was treated and taken to hospital.
She said the boy had sustained "serious injuries" from the collision.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman added that the boy's injuries are "not life-threatening".
