FIREFIGHTERS are still at the scene of after a huge blaze broke out at the former Marbella Mambo nightclub in Birkenhead.
Emergency services were called at around 9.40pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 24) following reports of a fire at a disused club on Conway Street.

On arrival, firefighters discovered that around 12 by 12 metres of the once Marbella Mambo nightclub roof was well alight.
Five fire engines and a combined platform ladder arrived at the scene.
There have been no reports of any injuries.

At around 11.30pm an Incident Command Unit was brought to the scene as crews prepared to work through the night to bring the fire under control.
A member of the public told the Globe: "I was walking along and smelt burning, looked up and the roof was on fire. Hope no-one has been injured."
Merseyside Police have closed Conway Street between Adelphi Street and Argyle Street while firefighters work to make the area safe.
Birkenhead bus station will be open to the public.
Residents are being urged to avoid the area.
