WORKMEN are being urged to keep their vehicles locked at all times after vans were targeted in Chelford and Nether Alderley.

Tools were taken from a white Ford Transit van in Dixon Drive, Chelford, overnight on April 9/10, and tools and gardening equipment were taken from a blue Mercedes Sprinter van in Whitebarn Road, Nether Alderley, on April 15.

Anyone who can help police with their investigations into the thefts is asked to ring 101, quoting the incident numbers, IML 370150 (Dixon Drive) and IML 374874 (Whitebarn Road).

Cheshire Police has issued advice to reduce the chances of your van being broken into.

Park your vehicle in a well-lit area and never leave it unlocked or with windows down.

Tools and other items of value should never be left in full view and should not be kept inside a vehicle overnight wherever possible.

If your vehicle does not have an alarm, get one fitted by a professional so that you and anyone nearby will be alerted to a break-in.
