RUNNERS are being sought by The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust for the Great Manchester Run in May.

The charity is asking individuals and teams to come forward to join Team CAFT at the event, known locally as the Manchester 10k, on May 19, in an attempt to beat last year’s fundraising total of £10,000.

The charity provides life-changing holidays and day trips for ill, disabled and disadvantaged children, and relies on events such as this to help them to reach its £1 million target each year.

Jure Modic, Challenges Fundraiser for the charity said: “The Great Manchester Run is a fantastic event which we feel so honoured to be part of.

“Our supporters never fail to impress us as they put themselves forward for this challenge year on year, helping to raise vital funds for our charity.

“It’s a great race which is suitable for both experienced runners and those just starting out.

“In 2018 we had 88 runners, and it would be amazing if more came forward to join our team this year to help us to make this a record-breaking 10k for our charity.”

The charity is appealing for runners of all abilities to contact them to register their places now.

The cost to register is £25 and the charity asks that each runner raises a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.

The 10k is one in an exciting list of sporting and challenge events which the charity offers each year, and include overseas and UK trekking and cycling events and Skydives.
