Traffic has returned to normal
TRAFFIC has returned to normal on the M6 between junctions 19 and 18.
People were on the road on the M6 southbound between the junctions, and lane one was closed until around 8.45am. Traffic was held on both sides of the carriageway until about 8.15am.
North West Motorway Police reported on twitter at about 8am: "We have traffic at a standstill due to a pedestrian walking between both carriageways, approach with care."
