TRAINS will be delayed until the afternoon between Brighton and London.

Rail services into London from a number of Sussex stations will be disrupted until 1pm, according to National Rail.

A faulty brake on one of the trains has caused delays and closures since about 8am this morning.

All lines have reopened between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.

But while service recovers, trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes.

Gatwick Express services will be affected between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport.

Southern services between London Victoria and Bexhill, Bognor Regis, Brighton, Eastbourne and Portsmouth Harbour will also be affected.

And Thameslink between London Bridge and Horsham, and also between Bedford and Three Bridges will be impacted.

National Rail said on their website: “Staff are now working hard to get services back to the booked timetable.

“Please expect delays and alterations while this is ongoing.

“Please allow extra time to complete your journey as services may be subject to delays of up to 15 minutes.

“Please check your journey prior to travelling and continue to listen to station announcements for service amendments.”
