Burglars stole Pandora charms - and then drank milk from the fridge before fleeing

Catherine Hutchinson, 62 from Newton-le-Willows, was in work on Wednesday afternoon when her daughter called her to say that someone had broken into her home.

The mum-of-two ran home to find that thieves had gained entry through the patio doors of her home, stealing money and trashing the property.

Among the things taken was Catherine's exclusive Pandora charms on a bracelet from Disney California, which marked the park's 60th anniversary.

It was given to her on her 60th birthday.

Heartbroken Catherine was further disturbed when she realised the burglar, or burglars, has also drank the bottle of milk from her fridge before leaving the empty carton in her home and making off with her goods.

She said: "I just felt devastated when I realised someone had gone in and been through everything in the house. They took different things such as cash and jewellery, but when I realised the charms were gone I was really upset.

"They are special things that could only be bought that year in Disney California because it was for the park's 60th anniversary, but it just so happened to be my 60th when we went so that's why I got them.

"I have other charms as well that are landmarks and gifts from my daughters, so it's hurtful that someone took them.

"Bizarrely though whoever did this also drank a bottle of milk, around two or three litres, from my fridge and threw the rest of it outside - but left the empty bottle in the kitchen.

"As if it wasn't bad enough, that part is just weird. The police were amused by it when I reported it to them as well."

Catherine is appealing for anyone with CCTV footage that could show anyone carrying a Asda carrier bag on Southworth Road between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday, March 20 to get in touch with police via 101.
