TWO men attacked a teenager on Kingsway Bridge before stealing his bike and pouring beer on him.

Police say the 14-year-old victim was cycling with friends on Kingsway South, towards Manchester Road, at 7.30pm on Friday.

Detectives say as the trio approached the Bridge they were approached by a group of unknown men, who blocked the path.

One of the men threatened the victim and ordered him to get off his bike.

Another member of the group then stole the the teenager's bike before assaulting him – kicking him in the face and pouring beer over him.

The victim was able to escape and call police while the attackers fled in the direction of Latchford.

The victim sustained bruising to his face and chest but did not require hospital treatment.

The attacker is white, aged in his early 20s, more than 6ft tall and of a stocky build.

He had a local accent, stubble and blonde hair with a fringe brushed onto his face.

He was wearing a light grey hoodie and a black puffer body warmer with an orange logo on his left chest.

The man who ordered the victim to get off his bike is white, approximately 17 and around 5ft 8ins tall with a slim build.

He had short blonde hair, freckles and a Liverpudlian accent.

He was wearing a matching black Under Armour top and bottoms which had thin grey horizontal stripes on the top.

The stolen bike has since been recovered.

DC John Parry said: “While the victim in this case did not sustain any serious injuries, he has understandably been left shaken up and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the men responsible for the assault and robbery and bring them to justice.

“As part of our investigation we want to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and witnessed what happened or anything else that may be relevant.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists with dashcams who were driving in Kingsway around the time of the incident and may have recorded the offenders either before or after the incident occurred.”
