The car was on fire in a layby
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a car fire in Macclesfield Road, Alderley Edge last night.
Firefighters were called at 7.15pm, with one fire engine from Wilmslow attending the scene.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters attended to reports of a car on fire in a layby on Macclesfield Road in Alderley Edge.
"Wearing one breathing apparatus, one hose reel was used to put out the fire which had also spread to nearby hedges and trees. A thermal imaging camera was also used."
