TEN-year-old Tilly Warren has smashed her fundraising target for a cancer charity.

Tilly was due to have 20cms of her long locks cut off for the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

However because of the huge number of donations she received she chose to have more cut off, and sacrificed 33cms.

Tilly lives in Goostrey, and is a pupil at Goostrey Community Primary School.

In addition to donating some of her hair Tilly is raising money through her hair cut for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.

The Little Princess and Grace Kelly trusts have a special meaning for Tilly, whose grandma Liz Nelson, from Knutsford, is being treated for oesophageal cancer.

The Grace Kelly Trust was set up in memory of a four-year old girl who died from a rare renal cancer, and works to fund research and education into the signs and symptoms of cancer.

Tilly was hoping to raise £500 for the organisation, but has smashed that by raising an amazing £1,285.

She had hair cut by Laura Martin from LJM Hair of Middlewich.

Tilly’s mum Anne-Louise Warren thanked everyone who had donated to the online donations page - justgiving.com/fundraising/annelouise-warren2 - which closes on Friday.
