A FILMMAKER has praised the community's efforts in helping to make a football mockumentary a success.

James Kennedy, along with fellow County High School alum Adam Jump, spent Sunday and Monday filming at Wincham Park for the pilot of their fly-on-the-wall TV show, The Albion.

Northwich residents braved the weather to help out as extras, and a rough cut of the comedy is now coming together.

James said: "It was a great shoot. We had a lot to do in a short space of time but everyone really pulled together.

"So many people from the Northwich and Witton Albion communities came down and it was a really nice day.

Northwich Guardian:

"It's been about eight or nine months in the making, so to get started and see people embracing it and bringing the lines to life, with the town getting involved as well, it was really nice."

The cast includes Martin Trenaman (The Inbetweeners, Phone Shop), Dean Fagan (Coronation Street, Fresh Meat, and Mick Ferry (Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, The Visit).

There will be one more shoot on a matchday, before the show is floated with the aim of getting it commissioned for a series.
