STUART Gammon has stepped down from the Holmes Chapel Partnership after eight years as its chairman.

Stuart said: “After more than 10 years involvement, with the group, with more than eight as chairman, and its predecessor group, which developed the 2009 Parish Plan, I have stepped down to be able to make the most of my retirement.

“It has been a privilege to be involved with the group – publishing the Parish Plan, establishing the Partnership in 2010 and overseeing major projects, including the refurbishment of the two original village play areas, improvements to Dane Meadow, building a skatepark, enabling the Dementia Friendly Village, setting up the Holmes Chapel Christmas Market in 2012 and establishing the Holmes Chapel Community Newsletter.

“Of course, there were many other volunteers involved who worked hard to make the projects so successful.

“I can now spend my time on hobbies, and with my wife, without constantly wondering if there is something I have forgotten to do for the Partnership – and spending much less time on the demon computer.

“I wish the Partnership well, and hope it continues to be as successful.”
