BEXTON Primary School is celebrating the success of its annual Red Envelope Week fundraiser, which raised £2,194 for adventure trail equipment.
The event was started in 2016 after some parents requested ways to donate to the school if they were unable to attend FOBS (PTA) events.
Each year, in the first week of March, parents and carers are invited to send in donations to the school in red envelopes, with a prize awarded to the classes who were able to return all their envelopes.
There is no specified amount to return in the envelope, and the prize is only rewarded for the number of envelopes returned, not the cash value.
Bexton’s chairman of FOBs, Tina Short, said: “We are amazed at the fantastic response from Red Envelope Week this year.
“The children, staff and parents have really supported us, and the money will go towards much-needed equipment for the adventure trail around the school. A huge thank you needs to go to everyone for supporting us.”
