QUARRY Bank is to reopen to visitors tomorrow, Monday, March 11, after being closed for eight days because of staff illness.

A National Trust spokesman said today: "Due to a high level of staff illness we made the decision to close Quarry Bank as a precaution, and we have been working with partners including the local environmental health officer to investigate.

"We have carried out a specialist clean as an extra precautionary measure. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Quarry Bank, and have appreciated everyone’s patience while we’ve worked behind the scenes to get this special place open again."

The entire property was closed to the public from Sunday, March 3.

Public Health England has been working with bosses at Quarry Bank to establish the cause of staff illness which led management to close the National Trust property to the public.
