MARTHALL Village Hall was a sea of sombreros for a charity evening staged by Knutsford firm Flueboost.

The Mexican themed event was supporting charities very important to Flueboost managing director Alison Cartwright, East Cheshire Hospice and Friends for Leisure.

East Cheshire Hospice is based in Macclesfield and cares for adults who are living with life-limiting illnesses. It provides care, comfort and support to patients and their families.

Friends for Leisure is based in Congleton and supports young people with learning disabilities, allowing them to form friendships and access a wide range of social activities in the Cheshire East area.

The charity event raised £2,500, and Alison Cartwright thanked local businesses who offered raffle prizes to support the event.

“She said: “It means so much to us and will aid in the support of the East Cheshire Hospice and Friends for Leisure. The event was an outstanding success and enjoyed by all.”

Raffle prizes at the event included a gin afternoon tea, Sunday lunch for four and Mexican themed hampers.

Flueboost specialises in flue gas extraction, and is based at the Parkgate Industrial Estate.
