LOVELY Lane was closed this afternoon after a pedestrian was hit by a car outside Warrington Hospital.
Cheshire Police closed the road between the Pink Eye roundabout and Folly Lane following the incident at around 1.45pm today, Wednesday.
But Lovely Lane his since fully reopened.
A car and a male pedestrian were involved in a collision near to the entrance to Warrington Hospital.
The latter, who is aged around 70, has been rushed to Aintree Hospital with a serious head injury.
He remains in a serious condition this evening, police confirmed.

Paramedics were on scene within five minutes, a North West Ambulance Service spokesman said.
Heavy congestion was reported in the area as a result, with the road currently remaining shut in both directions until around 4pm.
