FOOD supermarket Lidl have submitted plans to open a new store in Croft Retail Park.

Plans for the new store on Stratton Court, Bromborough would see the demolition of existing industrial units and the construction of a 127 space car park and service roads.

In the design statement, Lidl say they will also landscape the area.

It is believed that the new store will create around 40 new jobs and will boast an in-store bakery and customer toilet.

Lidl's regional head of property Stuart Jardine told the Globe: "We are delighted to announce that we have submitted a planning application for our new store with Wirral Council.

"If granted this would mark a multi-million pound investment in the area, and the creation of new jobs when the store opens.

"We look forward to receiving the decision in due course."

Lidl currently have three stores across the borough; Birkenhead, Rock Ferry and Wallasey.
