SUPER slimmer Chris Lasch from Wilmslow has transformed his life by losing three stones in five months.

Like many men, Chris thought slimming clubs were aimed at women.

However, he decided to give it a try after reaching his heaviest weight and seeing how well Slimming World had worked for a colleague at work.

Chris said: “It took me just under five months to reach my target weight, but it wasn’t an easy journey.

“During that time I put up with lots of ‘banter’ from my colleagues about joining Slimming World, but they soon changed their tune after I lost my weight.

“The hardest time for me though was in April, I lost my mum suddenly and unexpectedly, which devastated me but also drove me to keep on track and become as healthy and as fit as I can for my children.

“That is one example of how attending the group each week really helped me through some really difficult times, times when I could have gone off the rails and fallen back into my old habits.”

As the weight came off Chris found he had more energy and was eager to use it.

He said: “In January I couldn’t run to the pub around the corner without getting out of breath.

“I started running using the Couch to 5k app, and halfway through using that decided to challenge myself each time on how far I could run without stopping.

“Within a short time I was running 5k regularly and ran my first 10k non-stop in April, in under 60 minutes. I now run 5-10k three times per week and go to at least two fitness classes a week.

“My self-confidence has grown massively, as well as my health and fitness, meaning I can do so much more with my kids and family, and feel good about myself at the same time.”

Emma Williams, who runs the Wilmslow Parish Hall Slimming World group said: “He has done brilliantly and we’re all amazed by his transformation.

“He’s a real inspiration to the group. We know many men assume slimming clubs won’t be right for them, but Chris shows once they come through the doors they do brilliantly.”

The Wilmslow Parish Hall group is held every Monday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Anyone interested in joining call Emma on 07765 886496.
