MORE than £10,000 has been raised to increase security at Lower Moss Wood Wildlife Hospital after foxes were stolen from the animal sanctuary on Friday night.
The hospital said on Facebook: "Our two beautiful foxes, Alice and Rift were stolen last night [Friday].
"Their pens where deliberately broken into and the two foxes gone. The police have been informed. All the volunteers who care for these animals will be devastated.
"They had broken into the fox pens at the top of the wood as well. We can only hope that they escaped and will return but that I doubt.
"You can draw your own conclusions to what type of people would do such a thing."
A gofundme page has raised £10,082 for money for secure enclosures, alarms and locks, since Saturday afternoon, with more than 600 people make donations.
