For residents who may already have beekeeping experience or may be taking a basic assessment this year, a practical course is available at £50.

Wirral Beekeepers will be holding a taster session at Christ Church Hall in Barnston on Saturday, January 26 from 10am to 12pm.

Other sessions are as follows:

  • Session one - 23 February
  • Session two - 2 March
  • Session three - 23 March
  • Session four - 30 March
  • Session five - 6 April

During the course, students will study an introduction to beekeeping, hives, frames and equipment, colony management, summer management and pests and diseases plus the harvest.
