If January has left you feeling in the dumps, don't be silly chumps – get down to Memorial Court to watch Spamalot next month.

The Monty Python musical will be performed by the Mid Cheshire Musical Theatre Company from Wednesday, February 20 to Saturday, February 23, bringing the tale of King Arthur to Northwich.

Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur.and the Knights of the Round Table, and their perilous quest to find the ‘Holy Grail’.

Dangers lurk round every corner, but brave King Arthur and his valiant knights are on hand to tackle all adversaries – once they have read the instruction manual, that is – and once the incontinent knight has had time to change his undergarments.

Spamalot follows the legendary tale, where the battle plans feature a bevy of beautiful showgirls, a potted plant, a Trojan killer rabbit, cows, kittens, the Lady of the Lake, Tim the Enchanter, Not Dead Fred, flatulent French people and the knights who say 'Ni'.

If it all sounds weird, it is – but also hilariously funny from start to finish.

The score is full of outrageous songs, which parody musical hits as well as Python classics, including crowd favourite ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’.

Whether you are a Python fanatic or unfamiliar with their zany humour, the show promises an evening or afternoon of sheer escapism and a good laugh.

Gallant knights and lovely ladies await your presence, and you will leave the theatre with a clippety-clop in your step.

Evening shows take place on February 20, 21, 22 and 23, along with a matinee performance on Saturday, February 23.
