CHILDREN are being offered a warm welcome at Longridge to help make scarecrows.

The Welcome centre is running free craft activity sessions on Wednesday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 29 at 3.30pm to make scarecrows for a festival at Tatton Park next month.

The Scarecrow Festival takes place in the gardens at the park from Saturday, February 16 to Sunday, February 24.

More than 30 scarecrows are to feature in the festival, and normal admission and park car entry charges will apply.

A Welcome spokesman said: “Help us to make the scarecrows for the Tatton Park festival and get free entry to the event, with free transport from The Welcome.

“The free craft activity is suitable for ages five and upwards, and please message us on Facebook to book your places.”
