A FACTORY teamed up to take on an accumulative challenge to celebrate the 30th birthday of St Luke's Hospice

Employees at Henkel in Winsford were delighted to smash their target and raised £679.

The hospice handed £30 to 30 businesses who volunteered to take part - and gave them 30 days to turn it into as much money as possible.

Staff at the manufacturing site which employs 132 people on Road Five at Winsford Industrial Site came up with lots of imaginative fundraising ideas.

Office administrator Karen Breeze said: "A raffle for an extra day's holiday was very popular.

"Donations of cakes were brought in by employees as well as our own catering staff.

"We set our target at £400 but we were so pleased to have exceeded this amount.

"For only having a such a short time fundriasing the whole team did exceptionally well.

A Christmas cake raffle and dress down Friday boosted the funds.

Karen Herbert, Carol McKee and Wendy Johnson collected cash donations.

As Henkel didn't use the £30 offered by St Luke's, this was added to their collection of £646 to bring their total to £679.

Carol and Wendy presented the gift and were given a given a guided tour of the hospice to show them how their money will be used.

Andy Bailey, corporate partnerships manager at St Luke's, said: "We are over the moon at what the team of Henkel managed to achieve in just 30 days of fundraising.

"They were very creative with their ideas and the raffle prize of an extra day's holiday shows real commitment from the management of the company too."
