Since the beginning of the year there have been 125 violent deaths in London, and nearly 20 of those have happened in or involved people from south-east London.

Here is a list of the murders and killings in the News Shopper area so far in this year:

January 24: Seyed Khan, 49, was found dead in Ilford Cemetery on February 1, after last being seen at his home in Thamesmead eight days earlier.

February 17: Jozef Boci, 30, died several days after being attacked in Greenwich following a minor dispute at the South Pole nightclub. Two men have been convicted over his death.

 

March 29: Reece Tshoma, 23, was attacked and stabbed in Nathan Way, Thamesmead, before being driven to hospital by a friend. He died from his injuries later the same evening.

April 15: Natasha Hill, 32, died from head injuries at a home in Sewell Road, Abbey Wood.

May 20: Sophie Cavanagh, 31, was found dead at a flat in Chatterton Road, Bromley. Her estanged husband has been convicted of strangling her.

 

June 23: Gita Suri, 56, was found dead in the back garden of a house in Tunnel Avenue, Greenwich. She had been stabbed in the back.

July 1: Shuren Ma, 72, died from a head injury at a home in Elmdene Road, Woolwich.

August 7: Joel Urhie, seven, died in an arson attack at his home in Deptford.

 

August 18: Leroy Junior Edwards, 66, was found stabbed at what police called a multi-occupancy address in Catford. A woman - 29-year-old Kerry Donovan, of Southend-on-Sea in Essex - was charged with murder.

August 25: Shevaun Sorrell, 22, was found with multiple stab wounds in Creek Road, Deptford. He was pronounced dead in hospital less than an hour later. Dana Powell, 27, of Deptford, was charged with murder.

August 31: Celia Levitt, 68, was found unresponsive after police forced entry into an address on Stoneleigh Road in Bromley in the early hours of the morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene and a 36-year-old man at the address was arrested on suspicion of murder.

September 6: Memunatu Warne, 46, was found dead at a townhouse in Centurian Square, Woolwich, following a suspected arson attack. A murder investigation was launched. This death took the number of homicides in London this year to 100.

 

October 22: Ethan Nedd-Bruce was thought to have been stabbed to death on Armitage Way in Greenwich. However his post-mortem examination revealed he had actually died after being shot.

November 1: Jay Hughes, 15, was stabbed to death outside a Morley's chicken shop in Randlesdown Road, Bellingham. He died in hospital from a single stab wound to the heart.

 

November 4: Ayodeji Habeeb Azeez, 22, was killed in broad daylight in Samos Road, Anerley, on November 4 after being attacked by a group at around 12.30pm.

December 8: Aron Warren, 18, was stabbed to death in Greenwich. Emergency services were called to reports of a man unresponsive at Topham House, in Prior Street.

 

December 11: Jay Sewell, 18, was attacked in Alwold Crescent, Lee, at around 9.50pm. He later died in hospital from stab injuries.

 

There have also been these two cases:

January 10: Oluwadamilola Odeyingbo, 18, was found injured in the street in Chislehurst but was later found to have died of natural causes.

April 4: Henry Vincent, 37, who was killed as he carried out a burglary in Hither Green - this was classed as self-defence.
